Do you own a WordPress blog? If so then you have probably experimented with 1 or 2 plugins through the life of your blog. Through experience I have found it can be a struggle to find plugins which can help make WordPress blogs better for both myself and visitors. To help assist you and your blog with your SEO I have composed a list of plugins for you to use to give your blog a better chance of competing against other blogs.
The first plugin I recommend you include in your WordPress blog is ‘Akismet’. This plugin helps assist you in battling against comment spammers who recently have become much more frequent. This will help keep your posts strong in case spammers attempt to post comments full of links to external websites of their choice.
The second plugin is the ‘All in One SEO Pack’ plugin. By using this plugin you are able to add important Search Engine Optimisation features to your blog to ensure it is search engine friendly at all times. There are plenty of settings that can be changed to your standards so you have complete control over what is added and removed from your blog. A third plugin which is recommended to keep your blog social is the ‘Digg Digg’ plugin. This allows you to add different social media buttons which will post links from your blog on websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Digg and other websites. This is a way of both promoting your blog and also allows you to keep track of who is using what when reading your blog.

The fourth plugin you may wish to use with your blog is the ‘Google News Sitemap’ plugin. If your blog has been verified by Google to include posts in the news feed this plugin will help assist in creating a news sitemap for Google so your blog follows standards set by Google.
‘HTML Page Sitemap’ is the fifth plugin we use to ensure if search engines crawl our blog they are able to find all pages on our blog. This makes sure that all pages, no matter how deep, are crawled and added to the search engines result pages.
Lastly we use ‘SEO Smart Links’ to add links to each post automatically. This plugin is helpful in a huge way as it allows a list of sites to be added to it’s settings which will be added to new posts by searching for chosen keywords in the added list.
Each plugin is useful in a big way and has allowed us to take advantage of blogging. There is no question that there is more plugins which can help optimise WordPress blogs, so if you know of any others that have not been listed then please leave a comment.
